While it does not deal with specialized flooding situations such as alluvial fan floods, coastal floods, flash floods, or floods related to ice jams, the same basic planning and response procedures could apply in these unique situations. This 3-day course will examine the role, design, and function of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC) and their supportive relationship as a NIMS Command and Coordination component a Multi-Agency Coordination System. Provide training about staffing, organization, information, systems, communications, and equipment needs at the EOC, such activating and deactivating, operations, as well as training and exercising. Focus on the role of an EOC as one of four NIMS Command and Coordination Structures.

This course provides local and state-level emergency responders with a robust understanding of the duties, responsibilities and capabilities of an effective Logistics Section Chief on an All-Hazards Incident Management Team (AHIMT). These responsibilities fall into two categories: responding to the incident and effectively fulfilling the position responsibilities of a Logistics Section Chief on an AHIMT. Exercises, simulations, discussions, and a final exam enable participants to process and apply their knowledge.

This course is part of the Basic Academy Program. HSEEP represents a national standard for exercise planning and execution for all partner agencies and private sector stakeholders to prevent, protect against, mitigate, respond to and recover from the threats and hazards that pose the greatest risk. The HSEEP course is an intermediate-level training course that incorporates exercise guidance and best practices. Throughout the course, participants learn about topics including exercise program management, design and development, conduct, evaluation and improvement planning.
