Emergency Shelter Management
This training is for community leaders and jurisdictional officials which offers the very latest training content specific to the establishment, management and day-to-day operations of both medical and general population shelters. Core concepts that will be covered include a comparison of the differing levels of care found in each type of shelter, hazard vulnerability analyses (HVAs), pre-incident stakeholder interaction, emergency shelter capacity development, site selection and assessments, requisite wrap-around support services, operational and logistical supply considerations and staffing recommendations.
A scenario-based table top activity designed to demonstrate shelter set up and configuration utilizing information presented during the lecture rounds out the training.
