Damage Assessment Training for Individual Assistance and Public Assistance Programs
This training will be focusing on the process and procedures of conducting damage assessments in support of the Individual and Public Assistance Programs.
The Individual Assistance program directly helps those with uninsured or underinsured basic critical needs. Through the Individual Assistance program, FEMA provides several types of financial and direct assistance to eligible individuals and families, including both homeowners and renters. These include Housing, Other Needs Assistance and Cleaning and Sanitizing Assistance.
The Public Assistance program provides supplemental grants to state, tribal, territorial, and local governments, and certain types of private non-profits so that communities can quickly respond to and recover from major disasters or emergencies. This includes funding for emergency protective measures, debris removal and permanent restoration of damaged public facilities.
